The Nantahala Hiking Club will take a 10 or 13.5-mile strenuous hike Nov. 17 to Hemphill Bald via Polls Gap with views overlooking Cataloochee and Jonathan Valleys. Group option for hike extension to Caldwell Creek and Rough Fork Trail. Meet at Dillsboro Huddle House at 8 a.m. Call leader Don O’Neal at (828) 586-5723 for reservations.
